Brent was appointed as Assistant City Manager in March 2025 after serving as Chief Financial Officer since 2019. He is responsible for the oversight of a $2.0 billion budget along with managing the City’s AAA rated debt program. He has 34 years of service with the City and has served in departments including Audit, Fire, Finance and City Manager’s office.
As Assistant City Manager Brent oversees Finance, Public Works, Utilities, MAPS, Development Services, Sports Venues and the Culture and Engagement Office. During his career he has been involved in over $1B in municipal debt offerings. He is currently developing a financing plan for the development of a new Oklahoma City Thunder arena scheduled to open for the 2028-29 season.
Brent earned an Accounting degree from Oklahoma State University in 1991 and a Master’s degree in Public Administration – Public Finance from the University of Oklahoma in 2002 and is certified as an Economic Development Finance Professional through the National Development Council. Brent and his wife Lori have been married over 34 years and have two grown children and one grandchild.
