Bhala joined U.S. Bank in Oct 2012 in the Government Banking Division with a focus on Public Power. He currently leads a team responsible for credit underwriting across all sectors in Public Finance in addition to Public Power. Bhala's prior experience includes covering public power entities and investor-owned utilities in a consulting and analytical capacity including stints at Enron and Crisil, India (an S&P subsidiary). Prior to joining U.S. Bank, Bhala worked at Fitch Ratings in New York. He joined Fitch's Public Power Group as a Director. As an integral member of Fitch Rating's Public Power Group, Bhala's responsibilities included co-authoring industry outlooks & special reports as well as monitoring the Fitch portfolio of municipal utilities and rural electric cooperatives. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters in Management from the University of Mumbai, India. He has also earned an MBA in Finance from The University of Wisconsin-Madison.
